LEADERS IN RACING

Overview

LEADERS

With horse racing a hugely popular sport on a global scale for many hundreds of years, the international horse racing industry has become a multi-billion pound business, watched in almost every nation of the world. Now of significant economic importance, the sport is influenced by various stakeholders including governments, governing authorities, racecourses, betting operators, broadcasters, sponsors, commercial partners, and the entertainment sector.

After extensive feedback from all key stakeholders in the sport, Leaders in Racing was formalised with a remit to provide an opportunity for the industry to come together and debate the business of racing and network with all the other executives across all sports and from all over the world.

Leaders in Racing 2011 covered all of the most important issues currently facing the international horse racing industry including:

  • The business of Racing: Global business on the up or on the down?
  • Racing for the punter: who are the winners and who are the losers?
  • Racing for change: How should racing compete against the competition?
  • Racing the Course: How the race meeting is changing and how to stay ahead of the game
  • Racing 20/20: A vision for Racing?

Leaders in Racing 2012 hosted 17 world class speakers over 6 sessions with 91% of delegates delighted with the content and learning. Leading representatives from some of the racing and betting world’s most prestigious brands and rights holders gathered to speak at Thursday’s event, with sessions focusing on the business of racing, promotion of the sport, international racing and betting and the finance of racing.
