Major General Andy Salmon, one of the most respected figures in the UK military, has confirmed he will be providing an exclusive insight into how the Royal Marines develop a winning culture, prepare for battle and manage pressure for a specially invited audience of 350 of the world’s leading sports coaches at Leaders in Performance, Chelsea FC, 10th and 11th October 2012.
As Commandant General of the Royal Marines, the UK’s elite commando units, Salmon was called upon by the British armed forces to lead the mission to provide security and stability in the troubled Basra region of Southern Iraq in 2009. He has been credited with turning around an impossible situation through his leadership skills and is set to share his stories and insights with the key people involved in achieving sporting excellence – elite coaches, managers, sporting directors, technical directors, performance directors.
